A phobia is an overwhelming and debilitating fear of an object, place, situation, feeling or animal. Phobias are more pronounced than fears. They develop when a person has an exaggerated or unrealistic sense of danger about a situation or object.

What is phobia in daily life?
Phobias can limit your daily activities and may cause severe anxiety and depression. Complex phobias, such as agoraphobia and social phobia, are more likely to cause these symptoms. People with phobias often purposely avoid coming into contact with the thing that causes them fear and anxiety.
The most common phobias include:
Arachnophobia: an intense fear of spiders and other arachnids.
Ophidiophobia: an intense fear of snakes.
Acrophobia: an intense fear of heights.
Aerophobia: an intense fear of flying.
Cynophobia: an intense fear of dogs.
Astraphobia: an intense fear of thunder and lightning.
Phobias can develop in response to traumatic experiences, learned behaviors, or without any apparent cause. They can be quite disabling, as they can limit a person's life experiences and opportunities.
Phobias work on a subconscious level. This means that no matter how much we tell ourselves that XYZ isn't life-threatening, our minds and bodies still react with fear. The aim of hypnotherapy is to communicate with the subconscious and change the way you feel and behave towards your phobia.
